Jane Lauterback (ACC, PCC) is a Leadership Coach and Executive Mindfulness Officer at The Purposeworks, the company she founded. She works with Fortune 500 companies, high-growth venture-backed start-ups, foundations and non-profits to increase organizational effectiveness, to establish faster paths to innovation, and deliver meaningful social impact.

Jane understands the stubborn challenges and obstacles faced by executives and teams. She has run global organizations herself in the US and while based in Tokyo, where she managed a portfolio of international companies.

Jane uses a unique, integrated approach that combines talent development, strategic marketing, and business development -- with mindfulness and contemplative neuroscience. This results an approach that helps executives reach levels of more dynamic and effective leadership while empowering personal fulfillment.

Her depth of industry experience ranges from technology, financial services, management consulting, media and entertainment, to CPG sectors.  Her clients have included IBM, Microsoft, AIG, Dell, Google, Accenture, CA, SAP, Cisco, CatchPoint, Morgan Stanley, KKR, GE, Pepsi, PWC, EY, JPMorgan Chase, Pfizer, The Gap, Bridgewater, Viacom and Verizon, among others.

Jane is now completing her book, Drift: Get Untangled and Reclaim Your North Star (A Practical Framework), a handbook and workshop series she’s developed. This is based on extensive research, interviews, and from working with hundreds of C-level and other senior-level executives.

It is important and timely to note that this work prescribes the steps needed to enhance executives’ responsiveness and actions in the face of unpredictable and often ambiguous circumstances.

Jane teaches meditation and mindfulness and is herself a long-time practitioner. She’s received certifications from the Stanford Medical School’s Compassion Cultivation Training program and from Nalanda Institute’s two-year program in contemplative psychology and neuroscience. Her studies are on-going: as a multi-year student of Ethan Nichtern, and with Dr. Miles Neale in his Contemplative Studies Program.

Jane is ICF certified coach and serves as a consultant for Chief and for Lee Hecht Harrison’s senior executive specialized practice, ICEO. She also mentors and coaches with several organizations such as UNICEF and Impact Hub 2030. Jane won this year’s Mentor of the Year award from NYU’s Stern School Berkley Innovation Labs Championship.
