To Unplug, Reflect, and Be More Purposeful: Right Now.

It's not too late. Ramping into this new year is slower and more challenging than any other. None of us is surprised. We see it as silver lining. This is extra precious time to invest in yourself. Don't squander it. Keep refreshing.

Acknowledge what you learned in 2020 and set a pragmatic path with easy to integrate micro steps for what you want more of in 2021. Worthy intentions, pandemic be dammed. Watch the video for ways to unplug, reflect, and be more purposeful — right now.

Doing nothing is doing something. Our brains use 20% of our energy yet it’s last on the list for healthcare. Downtime is purposeful. It’s essential to support our mental processes that solve problems, consolidates and locks in new data, and makes us better people, ability to understand emotions (ours and others) and a more attuned internal code of ethics, making good decisions, responsive not reactive.

How to unplug doesn’t mean we’re brainless. We want to slow down and comfortably nurture our curiosity, hang with others, and simply just be. With that in mind, here's are a few of our best ofs:

  • Meditate: gain perspective and increase your ability to be responsive, not reactive. Start with five minutes a few times a week and add to your practice with ease. (If you have to begin again, a thousand times, that’s fine. That’s the practice.)

  • Do some cardio: it’s like airing your clothes on the clothes line. Gets the junk out of our system, the Purell of the mind for clear thinking. Better to be live with clear goals and fully alive then in a fog, and I believe running helps you to do just that

  • Grab the dog your kids and watch:

  • Magic for Humans: (Netflix)

  • Every Frame a Painting: (YouTube)

  • Dabble in something and enjoy being an amateur (you don’t have to be high-performing all the time), everything you do doesn’t have to be perfect

  • 100 US Podcasts (Apple) or Top 10 Best (Time Inc)

  • 500 Greatest Songs of All Time (Spotify)

Be in your calm every day, if just for a moment yet don’t rush it: Continue to reflect, listen and honor your intentions and actions

  • What makes you proud?

  • Thoughts on inner and outer aspirations for 2021

  • Where do you want to be in 3 months, paint the picture (this isn’t about resolutions), This is about focus, and in the path of purpose and being better

Achievements aren’t solo. Be sure to thank your mates. We want to thank you for making us better. Be well, stay safe and connected.
